Role:
The Network Administrator I is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and support of the Credit Union’s network infrastructure while ensuring reliable and secure network operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
45% Diagnose and fix technical issues with laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, Wi-Fi, VPN, and business applications. Resolve helpdesk requests, document work, and escalate complex issues to higher-level team members and/or vendor support. Troubleshoot printers, conference room equipment, VoIP phones, and other shared devices.
10% Create user accounts, reset passwords, assign permissions, and support identity tools like Active Directory or Azure AD. Onboard and offboard users which includes preparing equipment, provisioning access, and ensuring secure deactivation when employees leave.
10% Set up new machines, deploy applications, image devices, and handle upgrades.
10% Monitor system health by monitoring alerts, performance, storage, and endpoint security status to identify issues early.
10% Maintaining security hygiene by enforcing MFA, patching endpoints, managing antivirus/EDR alerts, and educating users on safe practices.
10% Document procedures and fixes to creating knowledge base articles, update asset records, and track configuration changes.
5% Supporting network and server basics by handling simple tasks like monitoring connectivity, restarting services, or assisting with routine maintenance.

3. Maintain a high level of reliability for critical systems by monitoring and reporting issues.
4. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
5. Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills.
6. Perform other duties as assigned that are commensurate with the position and in the best interest of the Credit Union.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Two to five years minimum hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and supporting system networks and related devices. Understanding of common IT systems, software, hardware, infrastructure, telephony, peripherals, and troubleshooting methods. Financial industry experience is highly preferred.
Education: A two-year college degree in specialized IT course of study.
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, diplomacy and accountability is required. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Patience, politeness, professionalism and diplomacy required while interacting with employees, members and vendors.
Other Skills: Work independently using sound judgment. Use thorough and detailed change management processes. Possess sound organizational skills. Maintain an open line of communication and work effectively with other IT team members. Ability to quickly build rapport and project a calm, patient demeanor in stressful situations. Must be bondable.
