The Systems & Infrastructure Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of the Credit Union’s technology environment. This role combines hands-on user support with infrastructure and network operations. The position supports IT operations and helps maintain standards for system reliability, security, documentation, and maintenance to ensure systems, workstations, and branch technologies remain secure, reliable, and well-documented.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience: Three years of similar or related experience in configuring, deploying, and supporting PCs, networks, and related devices. experience in financial services is desired. Experience in a financial institution or regulated environment is preferred.
Education: A high school education or equivalent. A+ certification preferred; Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Azure certifications are desirable.
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, mental alertness, punctuality, dependability, and a cooperative attitude when working with employees, members and vendors.
Other Skills: Must have an understanding of common IT systems, software, hardware, infrastructure, telephony, peripherals, and troubleshooting methods. Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and ability to support users across multiple locations. The ability to organize workflow, work independently using sound judgement, and use thorough change management processes. Ability to build rapport and project a calm and patient demeanor in stressful situations. Must be bondable.
